Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation
Enterprise Cape Breton Corporation (ECBC) is a federal Crown corporation created to promote and assist the financing and development of Cape Breton Island and the Mulgrave area.
Festivals and Events Program
Each year, ECBC makes funding available to assist incorporated, non-profit entities organize and host festivals and events. The assistance is targeted at events with the potential to generate new visitation or to better serve visitors to the island, increase lengths of stay and spending, and improve the quality of the visitor experience.

Community Centre Program
ECBC will work with economic development stakeholders, community leaders, and organizations to identify and develop key infrastructure initiatives that strengthen and enhance the economic foundation of communities so that they are an attractive place to live and invest.
ECBC interest include supporting community centres that have a direct relation with festivals and events. It has been recognized by festivals and event organizers that as the facilities age, the declining physical condition of the infrastructure put the festivals and events at risk. The program is in response to providing matching dollars for upgrades to existing facilities, thereby capitalizing on the capacity, strength and opportunity present in communities across Cape Breton Island.
Please note: There is no deadline. Applications may be received at any time throughout the year. The review of the application and the approval of funding will be subject to ECBC’s annual budget restrictions for the community centre program. Applications will be reviewed and evaluated against the program criteria.
